"I was tasked with coordinating a business summit in NC for a global team. With over 20 people attending and a tight budget, it was a real challenge. After previewing different venues, we chose Flat Rock as the location. The management at Highland Lake Inn (HLI) was very accommodating. From my first meeting, to my follow up coordination, to the actual event, they were fantastic to work with! Not only was everyone at HLI very friendly and warm, they were professional and very good at what they do too. The Lodge is a stand-alone building on the property, situated at the top of a hill. It has three levels, a large meeting room, a game room in the basement, and 20 guest rooms attached. The main floor has a huge great room with a fireplace and big screen TV, a bar (sink, microwave, refrigerator, storage), several sitting areas with comfortable couches and tables. It has the feel of a log cabin. The rooms were nice, good sized and some have balconies. Each room is similar and has a large sink/vanity outside the bathroom/shower. The food is excellent and the service is spot on. The staff is great and we were given an abundance of attention. Overall, the event was a huge success and all attendees seemed to be very pleased."

"I can already assure you that everyone absolutely loved the Inn and loved the food. All employees at the Inn were like sunshine on a grey day. The grounds were beautifully kept and provided us with everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for helping me make this the best company trip we've had yet." "The experience was outstanding in everyway! I will be back and will recommend Highland Lake Inn to others."

The Grand Ole Hall The Grand Ole Hall is a fantastic, historic facility. Once an open-air gymnasium for hundreds of campers, now large crowds can mingle across its' ancient oak floor, much of which was salvaged from fallen trees on the property. It has a Banquet kitchen, separate bar area, one huge room that can be divided into two areas to accommodate different events, and an outdoor deck that looks out over the organic garden and serene lake. There are private breakout rooms for corporate meetings. High Speed and dial-up Internet access available in the Grand Ole Hall.
The Lodge Porch On the Lodge Porch, groups can conduct their business with free high-speed wireless internet connection, have all day coffee, hot tea, soft drinks, juice and bottled water; take morning and afternoon break snacks, all within a few steps away from their overnight accommodations. The Porch is enclosed with floor to ceiling windows that allow natural light to flow in, enhancing the feeling of meeting outdoors. After the meeting, guests can retire to the lower level recreation room for a game of pool, ping-pong, foosball, and darts or to enjoy the big screen TV. The Lodge has everything you need for refreshing mental breaks or "down time" in the evenings.
Kudzu Cottage Kudzu Cottage is a historic "camp" building that is perfect for medium sized groups to gather and feel as if they are far away from the everyday "business" of life. Kudzu Cottage has space in two rooms, hard wood floors, large windows to let in the sunlight, a gas fireplace for the rainy days, and is very affordable to use. For a corporate meeting, guests can meet in the main area, set up workstations in the break out room, and feel as if they were miles away from everything. Conveniently located next to the restaurant, groups won't have to waste time breaking for lunch. The separate breakout room is wonderful for a remote bar and beautiful buffets, prepared by chefs in our award-wining restaurant.
